Terms & Conditions
1. Enrolment
By enrolling at Street Flyers Dance, you agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions. These apply to all students and their parent(s) or guardian(s).
2. Fees & Monthly Subscription
All classes are paid for via monthly Direct Debit.
Direct Debits are taken automatically each month to secure your child’s place.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure payments are made successfully.
If a payment fails or remains unpaid, the student will not be permitted to attend classes until the outstanding balance has been cleared.
Monthly fees reserve your child’s place within their class and are payable regardless of attendance.
Street Flyers Dance reserves the right to review and amend class fees and subscriptions at any time. Parents/guardians will be given reasonable notice of any changes before the new fees take effect.
3. Refunds & Missed Classes
All class fees are non-refundable. We do not offer refunds under any circumstances.
No refunds or class credits will be given for classes missed due to a student's personal choice, holidays, illness or other absence.
Missed classes cannot be carried over to future months or refunded.
4. Cancellation of Membership
If you wish to leave Street Flyers Dance, written notice must be given by the 25th of the month.
Notice received after the 25th may result in the following month’s subscription being collected, as Direct Debits will already have been processed.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to cancel the Direct Debit only after receiving confirmation that the membership has been terminated.
5. Attendance
Regular attendance is encouraged to support each dancer’s progress.
Please notify us if your child is unable to attend class.
6. Uniform & Dress code
STREET DANCE & LYRICAL
There is no compulsory uniform for weekly classes.
Appropriate dancewear and footwear suitable for each class should be worn. Skirts or dresses should not be worn during street dance or lyrical classes, unless shorts are worn underneath.
Uniforms may be required for performances, competitions, photo shoots, or other school events.
BALLET
Ballet uniform is compulsory.
Students must wear the correct leotard, tights and shoes as advised by the school.
Hair should be worn in a ballet bun, unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
7. Shows & Events
Participation in performances and events is optional unless otherwise stated for competition teams.
Costume, ticket and rehearsal deadlines must be met to ensure participation.
Parents are responsible for ensuring dancers attend all compulsory rehearsals for performances.
8. Competition Team Policies
Competition classes require additional commitment and teamwork.
Team selections are made at the discretion of the teaching staff.
Teachers have the final decision on costumes, choreography, routines and team placements.
All competition-related payments, including costumes, entry fees and tickets, must be paid by the stated deadlines.
Once competition tickets have been reserved on your behalf, they must be paid for in full and cannot be refunded.
Dancers must not miss more than three team training sessions in the lead-up to a competition unless exceptional circumstances have been discussed and agreed with the teaching staff.
If a dancer withdraws from a competition at short notice without exceptional circumstances, their place within the competition team may be reviewed or withdrawn for future events.
Teachers reserve the right to adjust routines or team members where attendance or commitment affects the team’s preparation.
9. Health & Safety
Parents/guardians must inform Street Flyers Dance of any medical conditions, injuries or additional needs that may affect participation.
Students should not attend classes if they have a contagious illness.
Dance is a physical activity, and whilst every reasonable care is taken, participation is at the student’s own risk.
10. Behaviour
Students and parents are expected to treat teachers, volunteers and fellow dancers with respect at all times.
Bullying, disruptive behaviour or abusive language will not be tolerated.
Street Flyers Dance reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
11. Photography & Social Media
Photographs and videos may be taken during classes, performances and events for promotional purposes.
Parents/guardians who do not wish their child to appear in promotional material should notify the school in writing.
Photographs or videos taken at classes, rehearsals or events must not be shared if they include other children without appropriate permission from their parent or guardian.
12. Personal Belongings
All belongings should be clearly labelled.
The dance school cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal items.
13. Changes to Classes, Emergency Closures & Force Majeure
Street Flyers Dance reserves the right to amend class times, teachers, venues or timetables where necessary. Wherever possible, reasonable notice will be given.
In the event that classes are unable to take place due to circumstances beyond the dance school’s reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, flooding, power failure, venue closure, teacher illness, public health restrictions or other unforeseen events, refunds will not be issued.
Where possible, replacement classes, online classes or alternative arrangements may be offered at the school’s discretion, but these cannot be guaranteed.
14. Safeguarding
The welfare of every child is our highest priority. The dance school is committed to providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all students.
All staff and volunteers are expected to uphold the school’s safeguarding procedures and report any concerns appropriately. Parents and guardians are expected to support these policies and work with the school to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all children.
Parents/guardians must ensure that emergency contact details and relevant medical information are kept up to date.
15. Social Media & Online Conduct
We are proud of the positive community within our dance school and expect all parents, guardians and students to behave respectfully both in person and online.
Offensive, abusive, threatening or defamatory comments about the dance school, its teachers, staff, students or families on social media or any online platform will not be tolerated.
Concerns or complaints should be raised directly with the teaching staff so they can be addressed professionally.
Street Flyers Dance reserves the right to remove a student from the school if online behaviour by a parent, guardian or student is considered harmful to the reputation of the school or the wellbeing of its members.
16. Teacher Decisions
The teaching team is committed to providing every dancer with the best possible opportunities to develop and succeed.
All decisions made by the teaching staff regarding class placements, progression, competition teams, choreography, solos, duos, trios, featured roles, costumes, music, performances and event participation are based on professional judgement and a range of factors including ability, attendance, attitude, commitment, teamwork and the needs of the school.
All teacher decisions are final and are made in the best interests of both the individual dancer and the dance school. Parents and students are expected to respect these decisions.
17. Code of Conduct
To maintain a positive and supportive environment, all students and parents/guardians agree to:
Treat teachers, staff, volunteers, students and other families with kindness and respect.
Arrive on time and be ready to participate in class.
Follow instructions given by teachers at all times.
Respect the dance studio, venue and equipment.
Refrain from disruptive, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour.
Raise any concerns privately with the teaching staff rather than discussing them during classes or on social media.
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in a verbal warning, written warning, suspension or termination of membership at the discretion of the dance school. No refunds will be given where membership is terminated due to a breach of these Terms & Conditions.
18. Amendments
Street Flyers Dance reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time where reasonably necessary. Parents and guardians will be given reasonable notice of any significant changes.
19. Agreement
By enrolling your child at the dance school and maintaining an active Direct Debit, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
